Dr. Carol Main (Sheker) grew up in Wisconsin Rapids. She graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for her undergrad before obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana in 2005. She then went on to complete a residency in pediatric and binocular vision at the Illinois College of Optometry where she received advanced clinical training in the care of infants, children and individuals with special needs. Dr. Carol Main is one of a select few optometrists in Wisconsin to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). Fellows of the AAO have been recognized by their colleagues as knowledgable and experienced professionals who have met the high standards of professional competence in optometry. Prior to joining Parkwood Eyecare Associates in 2013, Dr. Main worked at the Family Eye Center in Willmar, Minnesota. In her free time, she enjoys running, swimming, backpacking, reading and spending time with her family, especially on the ski hill.
Dr. Main specializes in pediatric and primary care optometry, including: diagnosis and treatment of vision and ocular health conditions in pediatric and adult patients, pre- and post- surgical care, ocular disease management including glaucoma and urgent eye care services.
